My culinary adventures in Seattle started with a walk to the Pike Place Market. It was a busy weekend, and I was getting very hungry, so standing in a long line wasn’t an option for me. Walking outside the market a place called Turkish Delight grabbed my attention and to my surprise it wasn’t very busy in there – I still had to stand in line though. The first place I visited on my road trip from Seattle to San Francisco was Pike Place Market, the most popular tourist destination located in the heart of Seattle overlooking Elliott Bay waterfront. Named after the central street, Pikes Place, this public market is one of the oldest and continually operating markets in the US. Pikes Place opened in August of 1907 and has since been the most visited market in the country and 33rd most visited market in the world….
