Hello my friends from my parent’s and my childhood home in Baku, Azerbaijan. It has been a week since I arrived here, but I am still recovering from jet lag, the reason I haven’t been blogging lately. I have been spending most of my time at my parent’s house and garden, eating fresh fruit and vegetables, the benefits of being in subtopics.
Aren’t these strawberries beautiful?! I almost ate the whole thing.
I arrived just in time for green sour plums, green because they are picked unripe. To balance their sourness, sour green plums, alcha in Azerbaijani, are usually eaten with salt. They can be really sour, but these ones were moderately sour and also very juicy, the way I like them.
When I think about my parent’s garden, roses are the first thing that comes to my mind. There are so many rose bushes in my parent’s garden that it qualifies to be called the rose garden.
I am almost over my jet lag, so I am hoping to be back on track soon 🙂
